There Is No Fear In Love

"There Is No Fear In Love" is a photographic series that explores the profound impact of love on relationships, community, and identity. Over six years, I’ve captured portraits of people dear to me and intimate moments that reveal the many ways love manifests. This collection celebrates how love shapes our personal growth and strengthens our connections with others.

Embedded within the imagery is the notion that to love is to witness and reflect, where we become mirrors of each other's light. Inspired by James Baldwin’s quote, “The longer I live, the more deeply I learn that love — whether we call it friendship or family or romance — is the work of mirroring and magnifying each other’s light,” this project highlights the transformative and adaptable nature of love. The portraits include individuals who not only mirror aspects of my own character but have also been pivotal in shaping my identity as a Filipino immigrant living in Baltimore. These photographs are an extension of my personal journey, capturing my evolution and self-discovery. This body of work is a celebration of love and life, inviting viewers to delve into the fearless depth of love's impact and its role in shaping both personal and communal identities.
